9/24 to 9/28/2018
Belmont fathers showed up in masses to support their children and the school during the Bring Your Child to School, Donuts with Dads event on Wednesday, September 26.
Fathers and their children filled nearly every cafeteria seat, starting at 7 AM. The event, organized by Rob Summerall and members of the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), was expertly planned and flawlessly carried out. A nearly endless row of delicious donuts and beverages awaited guests. Tastefully decorated tables provided a friendly and relaxing ambiance for families. The PTO also provided a photo booth, where Belmont journalism students took pictures of Dads with their sons and daughters.
Other fun events from this week included Belmont Spirit Day, where students got a chance to show their school pride by wearing their Belmont T-Shirts. Students also participated in various after school clubs and activities, including Science Olympiad, First Lego League robotics, cross country and more.
Next week’s big events include a Costa Rica informational meeting at 6pm on Monday in the cafeteria for eighth to twelfth graders and their families. At the assembly, attendees will learn more and get a chance to ask questions about this adventure of a lifetime. Tuesday night, there will be a Belmont fundraiser at Moe’s and 1,000 Degrees restaurants. These establishments will be donating a portion of the proceeds from those who visit between 5:30 to 8:00 PM. The multitude of after school activities continue as planned, allowing the youth of Belmont an opportunity to pursue their interests and form greater bonds with friends and school community. Thanks for reading this week’s edition of the BWN online. We hope you enjoy the photos.
