Biography

I was born in Huntsville, Alabama and moved to Lake City when I was 3. I attended Columbia County Schools and graduated from CHS in 1984. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Florida in 1990. I have taught Grades 2, 4 & 5, K-5 in an Applied Technology Lab , served as Curriculum Resource Teacher and After School Coordinator for a 21st Century Community Learning Center site. I retired from Columbia County Schools after 30 years of teaching and began working at Belmont Academy in 2022, teaching 4th grade math. 

 

I have been married to my husband, Dean, since 1989. We have 2 children, Joseph and Leah. Joe is a law enforcement officer and is married to Shannon, who owns DFC Dance Studio. They have 3 daughters, Larkin, Tinlee and Joslyn, 2 of whom attend Belmont. Leah works in Live Oak and is engaged to Matt Cribbs, a deputy with Hamilton County. They have 1 daughter named Lily.
